PART 1
Born Hereford England 28th January 1945.
August 1945 brought to the Borough in Southwark London. Put with "child minder" Nanny Shoesberry with sixteen to twenty others at any one time. Grew into a street urchin, beggar and a thief. There until 1952 when picked up by the welfare state and re-united with my parents. They were given a house with the Corporation of London. The worms that I had were got rid of. I was sent to Deal and Worthing suspected of having T.B but was O.K. My teeth were fixed. Now healthy I went to my first school Montem at Hornsey Road where I picked up a paint brush, I also learned to read and write.
1953 sent to Hungerford Road School for short while but could not get on - too many fights.
1954 sent to Tufnell Park primary school encouraged by my teacher Mr Compton to draw and paint. The school held an exhibition of my work
1955 another exhibition. Failed the 11+ exam.
1956 on the recommendation of the Head teacher of Tufnell Park was accepted into Camden Grammar School which had just become Holloway County Comprehensive.
1961 worked my wayto the Grammar part of the school in all subjects especially history and art. Left with a number of G.C.E.s. Joined the G.P.O as an apprentice telephone engineer operating out of Covent Garden exchange, also went to North London Working Men's College to study Telecommunications and Electronics.
1965 qualify. Get married to Evelyne we have baby girl Jayne.
1966 have second baby Clare but she dies of defective heart. Leave G.P.O. Join G.E.C. telecommunications (Reliance Systems).
1968 Divorce Evelyne.
1970 marry Marion which was the best thing I have ever done. Study at evening classes drawing and painting under Mary Payne who at the time was a Lecturer at Camberwell College of Art who in turn had studied under Augustus John.
1972 Promoted to Chief Area Engineer(West End) in charge of 200 engineers.
1975 Move to Chesterfield Derbyshire buy a house. Operate from home, company car plus expenses. Trouble shooter for North West area.
1978 Leave G.E.C. Go to Chesterfield College of Art to take vocational diploma course for Studio Pottery. Build first of many kilns a 50 cu.ft. wood fired salt glaze kiln which works first time!
1980 Leave art college, set up workshop and shop at The Coach House, Lea, nr. Matlock. At home build 35 cu.ft. salt glaze kiln fired on old engine oil. Teach pottery at Adult Education Centre 2 evenings and Saturday mornings.
1981 Marion has our first daughter Jessica. Take another teaching post in Adult Education for another 2 nights a week.
1982 at The Coach House build 90 cu.ft. salt glaze kiln fired with swirlermizer burners on red heating oil.

During the period 1952_1957 met my life long friends Graham Roy John and Owen. Pat and Carol.
During the period 1965-1970 all my friends marry I am best man to John and Pat Owen and Christine. Roy also marries Evelyne I am told its not done to be best man. Graham marries Carol.
