1983 rebuild shop and extend workshop.
1984 win gold award from the Country Landowners Society for conversion of farm building to business use. Move to Chatsworth House Estate to the Stud Farm next to the estate Farm Shop. Buy a 35 cu.ft. electric kiln but have to build it in situ as it will not go through any door or window and the building is listed and protected. Start to make earthenware.
1985 the Estate win the same award again. Give up teaching adult education.
1986 Marion has second daughter Rebecca (Becky).
1987 Move the pottery to the Dukes Barn. Add 3x50 cu.ft. electric kilns, bigware wheel slip cast plant including 200 gal blunger, 1000 gal slip arc tank,casting tables all fully pumped jigger and jolley. Build mould making workshop. Start supplying Habitat, Boots, and garden centres.
1988 show at the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham Garden and Leisure Show[G.L.E.]
1989 show at the N.E.C. G.L.E. and Harrogate garden show.
1990 show at the N.E.C. Gift ware and G.L.E. At Harrogate Garden show.
1991 show at the N.E.C. G.L.E. Supplying 800 customers,3rd or 4th largest terracotta company in the country,40 tons on average per week,25 employees,turnover £1.1 million pounds. We think were going to be millionaires.
1992 recession hits us 10 made redundant immediately. Painfully over the next couple of years we get smaller and diversify making moulds, ornaments, anything as long as we exist.
1997 lease expires at Chatsworth we do not renew and close down. I learn big is not good we cannot compete with China in the old industries. Take the next 18 months to 2 years off chill out.
1999 make moulds buy small kiln,a wheel,sell moulds,make a few pots,start working for a mould making company.
2001 learn about resin and silicon.
2002 start making chocolate as a hobby - very similar to slip.
2004 give up working for mould making company.
2005/6 get a technicians post 16 hours at Netherthorpe School first project year 10 Kate Malone. Make the pupils lots of moulds and bright slips - huge success.
2006/7 go to Parkside School 15 hours to cover for maternity leave,she does not come back I stay on. At Netherthorpe a student decides to do project on Kate Malone, makes amazing jug and vase. I see Kate Malone and introduce the student to her. I think a student placement is in the offing.
2007/8 make lots of engobes for year10 at Netherthorpe Kate Malone project best ever. Head of department at Parkside is ill and is not at school from September until end of May I take charge of Year 10 and 11. Best G.C.S.E. results ever in Art.
2008 results in I retire from Parkside but continue at Netherthorpe.
Having renewed my interest in pottery in the last few years I have decided to make what I want now and am also painting. I hope to show and sell other potters' work on this website. Keep in touch.



End of 2006 Graham dies we all meet up at the funeral afterwards
we go to the pub and become for a brief moment 14 years old again.
